Whindley is a large house with plenty of space for you to relax for your holiday.

The main living area is spacious and comfortable with views over Loch Gairloch all the way to the Isle of Skye. This is the best place from which to see the spectacular sunsets. In the lounge there is TV/Video, DVD player and a radio/CD.There is also a range of family games, jigsaws and books for rainy days.

A coal effect gas fire provides back up for the central heating if required. A pair of binoculars is provided for the essential activity of spotting porpoises in the bay from the front window.

The large dining table would seat 8. While dining, you can still see the wonderful sea view or the birds which flock around the feeders in the garden.

The kitchen is particularly well equipped for a self-catering property. There are two cooking hobs - yes, 1 gas and 1 electric! With an electric double oven, a large fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer, you have all the equipment you need. Cutlery and crockery is provided over and above what will be needed for 6 people.

Bedroom 1- double bed, direct access to the family bathroom (which can be closed off to create an exclusive en-suite), 2 single wardrobes and cupboard units, dressing table and chair. This room overlooks the garden and Gairloch beach can be seen through the trees.

Bedrooms 2 (double) and 3 (2 singles) both have - ensuite shower room, range of wardrobes and cupboards and bedside table. These rooms overlook Gairloch and the Isle of Skye.

Duvets and pillows are provided for all the beds. Please note that we do not provide bed linen or towels - guests will need to bring their own.

The heating system will be on for a few hours each day, morning and evening according to the time of year.

There are extensive gardens with places to sit and admire the views.

The usual access to the house would be up the short asphalt drive from the road and in spite of being a sloping site, it is possible to access the front terrace from the house on level ground.

Much of the garden is planted with mature trees, many of them being Scots pines. Being close to nature means that the garden is an ideal place to see the wildlife of the area. There are up to 20 species of birds visiting or flying over the garden. A pine marten is a regular visitor and you may catch site of one at dusk if you are lucky.

Please note that the garden is very steep in places and visitors need to take care if exploring.
